5MileWIFI Testimonials
We've had our 5MileWIFI for a couple months now. We absolutely love it! I waited to give my feedback until we finished a 4 week trip down into the Carolinas. Town after town we sat in our boat getting great use of our laptop without having to slog into a coffee shop hoping we didn’t lose the computer over the side of the dink. Since we were headed South in early September (!!) I wanted to catch a National Hurricane Center update when going through the locks for the Dismal Swamp, and even there I caught a 2 minute quick update while the locks filled. Of all the towns, only one was without a good strong (and unsecured) signal for us. O.K., O.K. so it doesn’t give us any benefit when anchored out in the swamps, the total boonies, but all-in-all we get a usable laptop with internet in probably 75% of the places we are. A great improvement to our being on board.
We received your package last night and put it in use instantly. We are having great results. The installation was simple and well documented. We are now on line at anchor and the whole engine department is thankful. The mates, who were great naysayer, are green with envy which is an even bigger source of enjoyment for us.

We have used your antenna for just over a year now and it has revolutionized our WIFI reception. I am currently writing this at anchor in a bay on the south of Santorin Thira) in Greece and would normally have no connection what-so-ever in such a remote place but now - bingo! Our distance record was last year in Mikonos where we were able to pick up a hotel signal and when we went ashore just to confirm it was OK, we were told it was nearly 4 miles away on the other side of the island! We don't have the aerial permanently mounted but it is one of the first things we do when we arrive somewhere. We love our new 5MileWIFI card - it was simple to install and it works superbly - so far our distance record is 9 miles. We had a clear line of sight to the to the hotspot over water. We verified the distance with our nav software and GPS. Our antenna is about 15 feet up the mast. We put it up with a flag halyard. This product does what it says it does.

This thing works well - it gets us connected. We have tried a couple of other products that were inexpensive and easy to install - but they did not have the power to do the job. We need wifi to keep up with our business and we don't want to keep dinghying into shore to track down an internet cafe. We have been able to connect from pretty much all of the anchorages we have found in Europe. Sometime we pay and sometime we get a freebie. Our distance record is 7.3 miles while we were sailing in Greece. The users manual could use some work . But we figured it out - plug it in and go.

I purchased your product a month ago and it works great! I am in a harbor that has a very weak signal and this product was just the thing I need to reliably connect. Great job developing this product! I’m an electrical engineer and I appreciate the work you did to make this small, with relatively high power, and easy to install. Well done!
